Here you go...

Bob has quite an eclectic collection of collectible nautical nostalgia
up for sale. I think he may have fallen on hard times. I expect to
see the C&C and the home theatre up for sale shortly.

You can get brand new ones at WM (not the least expensive place)
for about $40. Why would I want used ones (presumably with bite
marks on them) for a minimum bid of $20?

Sorry, Jonathan. I have 160 pair of 6, 8 and 10 foot varnished oars-NEW. They
can be had for 20 bucks per pair. Please find me that deal anywhere else on the

Just a question Loco..how many sets of oars do you recon the average
small marine supplier sells per week?

I'll answer that query! Probably next to none! West Marine and BOAT US charge
silly prices for varnished oars and paddles. I sold seven pair because 20 bucks
for brand new oars is probably below cost. Defender sells them for 40.00, which
is the best price I've seen in a store.

Well, I'd really like to get rid of them. But shipping them is a drag and a
half. I figure 20 bucks for a new pair of varnished oars is a good deal. Maybe
a store will buy them all as a package...
I also have 100 25 foot shore power cables. which I will sell for 15.95 each

I dunno about the wedding video business, it appears that this is a lot of
junk stripped from boats, some of it appears to be junk that Boob bought or
was given and is now trying to sell. I know fellas at work that swear by it,
they use the computer labs at work and buy(and possibly sell stuff)
constantly. I suppose you can make a few nickels in your spare time,
important if you're not wealthy or don't have a decent job or any marketable
skills and need to make money for your cruising kitty. I was gonna sell my
cruiseair also, though I don't think I'll list it on E-bay. Funny, Boob
isn't offering to deliver the thing, maybe he's having a hard time picking
it up? I know mine's heavy, but the major reason for possibly selling is
that I don't really have a good place to keep it on the boat when it isn't
being used. My wife bought me some useless piece of dreck some time back,
she bragged that it only cost $20, don't think you could get more than $5
for it at a garage sale. She stopped buying after I pointed that out, and
let her paypal account expire.

Head, holding tank, water tank, exhaust, stuffing box, mast,
scupper, water heater will mostly be done by launch(April 5th). Varnish
depends on a dry Spring. The boom and rudder will wait till next
winter. I didn't have any luck with the yard regarding bottom
painting. Didn't want to see any of my material from the DEP. He's
made a business decision and so it goes. Its not too bad though,
$6.00/ lf and I supply the paint. He'll tape and prep, but I don't
trust his prep or the amount of it, so I'll do it my self.

Same at my yard, but I'm allowed to do it anyway because I'm pretty good
friends with the folks there. They requested that I do the job on an early
Sunday and finish before 9:00 am. It's a moot point now as the ebay deal paid
for the painting anyway and I'm happy not to do it. I won't even be buffing the
hull myself this year.
That's a lot of stuff you listed. The head (I think you sent pics) is a big

Yeah, I guess you're right, you do have to have some money to sell there.
You don't necessarily have to have anything of value to a wide audience,
just the right individual. And no, I don't look there very often, in fact,
I've only visited twice, today, and a while back when someone on the
Catalina-list claimed there was a 99' Catalina 36 for sale for some
ridiculously low price. Turned out that it was just the opening bid, the
reserve hadn't been met.
