I'm partial to Catalinas over the others. I have no respect for most
Hunters. Benes are good for chartering, sail pretty well. "Gary Webster" wrote in message hlink.net... Input pls., which is the best of the 3 - Hunter, Catalina, Benateau? Something around 30 - 38 ft.? New. Thanks, Brady |

Beneteau is the weakest of the three, though they are better sailing designs than the Hunters. The Catalina has pretty good quality and sailing ability with very usable and bright interiors. A Catalina 34, 36 or the new 350 are hard to beat for most coastal sailors not looking to spend on a more expensive Tartan or Sabre type boat and not requiring the tank-like standards of a Caliber, Pacific Seacraft or Island Packet. Best for what? 30 feet LOA is *very* different from 38' Unless you can tell us more about what you want the boat for & what you want it to do, there is no way anybody (except Bobsprit of course) can tell you which is best. Thanks, Brady You're welcome. Doug King |

![]() which is the best of the 3 - Hunter, Catalina, Benateau? Something around 30 - 38 ft.? That's covering a whole lot of boats, there. Skip the Hunter's = entirely. I assume you're looking at beneteau Oceanis if you're doing a = comparison to Catalina's...I'd take the Beneteau's over a Catlaina = anyday....except maybe the Catalina 34, which IMP, is a better sailing = boat than the 36....(but then, it has troubles like leaking ports, = etc...) --=20 katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A.
