Hey Katy; Are you still with us or have you become a snow statue? After watching TV Weather, I really do feel like a Wimp for whining about a few days of weather in the teens 47 Degrees here now with rain. I've come to the conclusion that we,here in the NW have lousy weather but a great climate I know you've had a rough time so far with still another 6 week to go. Hang it there Ole Thom |

Are you still with us or have you become a snow statue? After this recent episode, we are now 4 inches away from a record = January snowfall...but there are still 3 days left, so I imagine we'll = get there. Scout, is the Bay frozen clear across? I was out on the east end of Long
Island and the ferry to Shelter Island had to resort to ice breaking to cross the gap between Greenport and SI. It actually rode up on the ice and broke it down. Had to back out of a thick piece and work in from a different angle. The wife was a little worried. I think it is impassable now. |

I don't know Skitch. I haven't been down there (about 75 mi from here) since
the temps dropped. Looking at the 9:30 AM pic (1/31/04), it appears that the narrow channel may be open. I see lots of ice too. I always wanted to try the ice sailing bit (sleds), looks like fun. Bob, you need to do some research about these homophobic responses.
Here, let me help: http://www.changethatsrightnow.com/s...?phobiaid=1602 http://www.ourvisionquest.com/intheworld.html "Exclusive emphasis on the need to be right all the time completely shuts out creativity and progress." However, there is hope: Comment On Question #324: "Can My Bipolar Mother Be A Control Freak?" Comment submitted June 17, 2002: My mother is exactly the same [as the mother referred to in Question 324]! I'm about to move just to get away from her. I'm finally starting to notice, or have "flashbacks" of my childhood as I watch her with my children, especially my eldest (who has mental problems anyway). She just makes it harder to deal with him or to help him. My son was diagnosed with Bipolar, and I was told that it does run in families, and you can have other conditions along with it! Thus our mothers! My mother is also a control freak. She's constantly trying to tell me how to "handle" my son or my younger husband. We love our house, being in the country, but she lives only a minute away, so we are going to move just to get further from her. She is making it harder for my son to control his anger. The doctor and the therapist said that we need to keep him away from her as much as possible. I will not have my son grow up to have issues and relationship problems the way I've had, because of her. My son's mental well-being, self-esteem, his ability to be on his own when he's 18 or so, is more important than her need to be "in charge", or her need to be "right all the time"! Sound familiar? CyberShrink's observation posted 6-17-02: We said, in response to Question # 324, that not every unwelcome character trait is attributable to a particular mental illness. Being what you termed a "control freak" is not necessarily related to Bipolar Disorder. "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... What's the difference between snowmen and snow women? Cool beans Scotty - WC is a nice little town as long as you don't have to
park on the side streets ; ) Have they cancelled the snow and ice they were calling for on Tuesday? I was hoping for another snow day. You can get a pretty good cheesesteak at the Courtyard Inn (on Rt 100, aka High Street, about a mile south of the University campus, left side, near the McD's; just beware of the smoke in there http://chefmoz.org/United_States/PA/...954343986.html ) Are you driving your rig there?
