As others pointed out, there is no time watching movies during a long
cross.

I've never watched TV underway? I'd guess few would, but that's not what's
being debated. You questioned why a "blue water" sailor would carry a TV

at
all, and I answered.
Now that you've been chopped down and agree with me we can move on.

You are welcome!

Whoa, 5 replies. Looks like I hit a nerve there....

From reply #1:
Nope...only said there are many ways to have TV aboard!
You lose again!

This is what you posted befo

You said :Sounds like the Laptop and flat panel qualify! You're wrong
again!

Me said: With your logic a laptop is also a plane, ship and
locomotive...

Your reply: Who's logic? The laptop is also a TV. Period.

QED.

From reply #3:
Nope, you asserted that blue water sailors don't watch TV or sholdn't,

wrong in
either case!

I only asked why you want a TV, never claimed a thing.

QED.

Reply # 4:
:Yup, even Jeff agreed, especially with a tuner plugged in. I listed for
:watching, TV, flat screens and notebooks as all viable methods for

watching TV
:aboard.
:Now you want to cry about the notebook issue as if it stands

alone....pretty
:hopeless debating technique, Dumbco!

See reply #1. Also, you never brought the tuner part in.

QED.

I never disagreed with you on the TV issue, only questioned why you
want one. Since it took you about 50 posts to come up with something
what looks like an answer, although it doesn't match my original
question, I never had the change to disagree with you. It's you who
claimed I said certian things, which you BTW never could back up.

QED.

Now, I wonder how many replies you need for this one..... g

Cheers!

Yup. And that's true. No show everyone where I posted that a regular TV

or flat
panel wouldn't work.
Once again, having failed to make a point, you make things up.
I listed 3 ways to have a TV aboard. You failed to make a single valid

point as
they are all workable aboard. The flat panel TV is probably best.

You quote something you said earlier, and respond to that.... Are you
talking to yourself now?

Cheers!

You retracted your statement. No, you said, they don't use a TV, they
use a laptop, because a laptop IS a TV. Still no explanation WHY a
blue water sailor needs a TV.

NEVER did I retract my statement.

Yes, you did. First you claimed they carry a TV, then you said they
use a laptop, since, according to you, a laptop IS a TV.

Plenty of blue water boats carry TVs and
modern flat screens make it simple.

I never doubted that, although you claimed I did. You never proved
that claim. Liar.

Reasons? TO WATCH TV, movies.

As others pointed out, there is no time watching movies during a long
cross. Granted, if you're in an harbour for a long time you _might_
occasionaly want to watch TV. However, a salty environment does damage
electronical equipment, even a TV. (which is a laptop, according to
you). Then there's the problem of possible damage in heavy weather,
and it will use valuable space you need for really important things.
This is my opinion about carrying a TV, not a claim that blue water
sailors never carry one. (read this 10 times, please)

The other thing Bob**** isn't aware of is that, since the world doesn't
run NTSC TV, TV is effectively useless outside the USA unless you have
a PAL set. Then again you'd expect that level of ignorance from Blobby,
because he never sails anywhere and knows nothing about anything
technical. Motorised router bits indeed!

So true! You can't help but chuckle at Jaxs' latest rant, can't answer the
question so hurl vulgar epithets at the inquisitor.

Hmmm. I'm afraid I regard Jax as a successful experiment in artificial
stupidity programming. Blobby OTOH is a prime example of natural
stupidity.

Maybe I'll take Jaxxy outa the KF for a while, see if the programmers
have managed to bring in any new variants to the canned responses.

Oops, I'm sorry. I meant to say that he was funny, not that he said
anything new. The only new development I've seen is that he seems to
have become Navvie's yes-boy, or maybe it's the other way around.

I try to ignore the soap opera element of this NG but sometimes it's
engrossing...

I should probably apologize to all the regular posters and readers (with
exceptions of course) for letting things go this far.
