Haha. A serious knockdown even cab crack the main structure of a ship,
but I'm glad the TV is secured safely.... Well, then the TV won't matter either way. Many modern cruisers carry a TV. Sorry, it's a fact. Come out of the 70's. RB |

I'm still in better physical condition than Bob
even smoking. BWAHAHAAHAHA! Nobody who smokes in anything more than a disease in progress. Ask your doctor. RB |
Best Power Tools for Boats????
I quit about 20 years ago. Best thing I ever did for my health.
If you were a serious smoker, then you made a major accomplishment. 1) You extended your lifespan 2) Improved quality of life 3) Saved a LOT of cash 4) Beat the businessmen and chemists to had you marked for a sucker. I like Mooron and I wish he'd be serious for a moment and understand and act on the above. RB |

Damn few voyaging sailors carry TV's.
You're correct...in 1973!!!! Many cruisers now carry a TV and DVDs. Modern electronics, charging systems and batteries have made it worthwhile. On your other icorrect point, modern boats usually carry a few power tools of course. RB |
Best Power Tools for Boats????
Nutsy, Go for a couple of week long trips and discover how soon those
power tools and their charging units become a PITA. Even one is in the way! How would they be in the way, Thom? They are packed properly and stowed. Do you cruiser on a Sunfish? RB |
Best Power Tools for Boats????
Your boat must be in really crap condition, if you neet to have all those
tools aboard. Newsflash: A new boat has no need for tools!!!! Bwahahahaha! It's so great when Donal blunders into a thread! RB |

So caffine and prescription drugs are fine by you? Tea?
These are not classified by the FDA as poisons. I don't like or drink tea. Try again. RB |

Do you buy your food from a store...
Comparing this to the direct and terrible destruction of your body through smoking and drinking is pretty silly. What's more is that you know I'm right. Smoking is terrible and your addiction was carefully engineered so a few people could drive new 7 series BMW's every year. You're being used and abused. And you stand for it. Ganzy didn't. It's all about self respect, Mooron. You either have it or you don't. RB |

Nutsy, Go for a couple of week long trips and discover how soon those
power tools and their charging units become a PITA. As it is I don't have to charge the tools much, because they aren't needed much. How would this change during cruising, Thom? Over a three month cruise, how often will my B&D driver need charging? Thom, you're being very silly. The powered drill and screwdriver are great tools and belong on boats! RB |

WRONG! Many prescription drugs *are* considered poison. Not all but some...
botox for example... and there are several neurotoxins I believe that are used in medical treatments. "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... So caffine and prescription drugs are fine by you? Tea? These are not classified by the FDA as poisons. I don't like or drink tea. Try again. RB |

Nutsy,
How in the world do you pack away a battery powered screw driver on a charger or even just a battery in a chargerr, being chargered. Tell me how you pack them away? Secondly, why would you want to pack them away when a simple screw driver and a twist drill stores easier and take up less space. If your lucky you won't have to un-store them. I keep a regular screw driver, a phillips screw driver, a needle nose pliers and a six inch cresent wench in a pouch not much larger than an eye glass case, in my boat cutlery drawer. That is my every day working tools. The tool box stays packed away. I sail for the enjoyment of sailing. Doing maintenance shouldn't be necessary when you're sailinng, it should be done when you are at the dock or on the hard. That is when you can use the power tools and they are available from my shop. They don't belong on the boat. Not a 29 footer. On a larger vessel with a walk in Engine Room, and Genset then a work bench makes sense Ole Thom |

charger or even just a battery in a chargerr, being chargered. Aboard Alien, the powered screwdriver actually lives in a plastic case under the sink. The charger is with it. It gets charged off the inverter or shore power rarely and has a nice selection of tips. The unit has a gear switch that allows it to act effectivly as a drill as well. It works quite well for most jobs, though I still keep the Makita aboard. Here's a pic. The model I have has a flashlight and tape measure built in as well. Cute. http://www.blackanddecker.com/Produc...x?PID=5470&RHI D=959&P=ProductDetail.aspx&ATT=AttachmentDetail.as px&ACC=AccessoryDetail.a spx&ACS=AccessoySet.aspx&R=ProductListByBrand.aspx RB |

necessary when you're sailinng, it should be done when you are at the dock or on the hard. It should be, but sometimes isn't. I think the power screwdriver is one of greatest tool inventions of late. RB |

are available from my shop. They don't belong on the boat. Not a 29 footer. Well I have a 32 footer and she's got a LOT of available storage space. I suppose If I took a 2 month cruise, I'd pick a more lean list of tools. For shorter sails and bay sailing I prefer to have more tools. Can't hurt. Might help. RB |

Especially, if you stay below and fool with them instead of actually
sailing... got ya. There aren't any places to pull in if there's a problem in the NY area. "Bobsprit" wrote in message ...
