| Ah, aparantly you're not familiar with "Blue water sailing", which of
| course isn't a surprise.
|
| Sure...I've only read about it and those blue water sailors NEVER need a
| screwdriver or soldering iron!
|
| Bwahhahahahaha!

Yeah but they all list "Professional Grade B&D Grinders with variable speeds
as well as motorized router bits as essentials!!

Bwhahahahahahahahahaaa!!

Again my appologies, I didn't realise you've problems reading. If you
study my original post carefully, you'll notice I'm talking about
power tools. FYI, there are screwdrivers you can use without
electricity. I don't think I want to know for what you want to use the
soldering iron...

Cheers!

News flash!!!! Red alert!
Cruising boats DO carry power tools. They also carry inverters and TVs and even
books on tape.
The powered screwdriver can be found on most boats along with the cordless
drill. 12V soldering irons are pretty standard, but the gas units can be used
in a pinch.
You know NOTHING. Obviously. Still worse, your friends also know nothing.

Bwahhahahaaha!

Poor numbnuts...hope this helps!

soldering iron

a device for applying heat to a joint, melting the solder so that it creates a
permanent joint.

You're confused, I guess... A dock caravan will contain these items,
even if it is an 1 million dollar "Blue water sailer", but they never
leave the dock. Why on Earth you need a TV on the middle of the ocean?
To watch your porn collection on DVD?

Did you ever had a knockdown? The interiour will be a mess after that,
and that poor little TV will be smashed to pieces. Let's face it,
you're a gadget freak, but a true sailor.....uhm, no...

You know NOTHING. Obviously. Still worse, your friends also know nothing.

A bold statement. You've a photo to prove this? g

Cheers!

The question wasn't "What IS an soldering iron", it was "Wherefor do
you want to use it"...

Raffles Light is a 67 foot ketch currently crusing for 6 months with a few
friends of mine aboard. Not only does it carry power tools, but there is a
small workshop/bench near the generators to fix and fabricate parts. I'd be
happy to send you a pic of this boat when she returns to my club in the early
summer.

Yeah! Knockdown at a single electric screwdriver flew around the cabin, killed
our parrot then shot out the porthole and sank a Pearson 40!
