Saddam Hussein's chemical weapons attack on Halabja, a predominantly Kurdish city in northeastern Iraq. On March 16, 1988, an estimated 5,000 civilians were killed and 10,000 injured when Iraqi air forces bombarded Halabja with mustard and other poison gases. Over a decade after the massacre, the people of Halabja still suffer from very high rates of serious diseases such as cancer, neurological disorders, birth defects and miscarriages. Saddam Hussein's chemical weapons attack on Halabja was not an isolated incident. It was part of a systematic campaign ordered by Saddam Hussein and led by his cousin, Ali Hassan al-Majid. Says there never were any WMD after the Gulf war. We have the best government money can buy. Saddam sponsored suicide bombers who killed 100s of Israelis. Bin Laden sponsored terrorists who killed 1000s of Americans. Saddam is in prison for his "crimes". Bin Laden is still at large leading a major terrorist organization. Does that suggest anything about priorities in Washington?? |

Last I checked 1988 was in the 80s. That's 16 years ago.

He believes taht they never existed after they were destroyed at the end of the Gulf war And you are unable to see a difference between his statement and your characterization of it? I think the NY Times may have a job for you. BRW I don't have the actual text in front of me, but my recollection is that he used the words "disposed of" rather than "destroyed." See any difference there? There is a definite difference. Yessssireeee! "Destroyed" would mean that he had got rid of them. "Disposed of" means that he kept them, and had them ready to launch at 45 minutes notice! Am I right? Regards Donal -- |
