Aww c'mon Kook you know he looks completely daft. Sort of a cross
between a bad hair day for a sheep and a spndly emaciated wolf. I think that one day God (if there is a God of creation) will have some pretty stern words for what mankind has done to wolves by selective breeding. Cheers katysails wrote: MC prated: I knew that! Ever read Heinlein's book 'Friday'? I really don't think God (and yes, there is One) is all that concerned that dogs may have been selectively bred from wolves. After all, the wolves are still here. It's not like one replaced the other. And there are wild dogs that nature herself selectively made...jackals, dingoes, coyotes, etc. Yes, but they were selectively created for specific tasks or environments, whereas people just decided on the basis what looks cool (in some cases). And by the same token, if He's all that upset about the dogs, just think about how angry He's gonna get when He takes after all those that shrunk up the cats. But smaller cats are much more efficient than the big ones. DSK |

Katy,
May I remind you that God step in when humans cross bred a horse with a Jackass. HE still is in control of all breeds. New breeds are HIS Domain I been blessed with a Ratterrier simply because the minimizations wasn't successful. I have a dog that for all appearances is a Std English Fox Terrier, turned back to the Kennel because of her size. Ole Thom |

http://www.moggies.co.uk/moggies.html:
"Most authorities believe that the shorthaired breeds of domestic cat are derived from the Cafra cat, Felis Lybica Cafra, a species of African wildcat domesticated by the ancient Egyptians perhaps as early as 2500 BC and transported by the Crusaders to Europe, where it interbred with the indigenous smaller wildcats. The longhaired breeds may have sprung from the Asian wildcat, Felis manul. Over the centuries, domestic cats have remained virtually the same size, weighing about 8lb (3.6kg) when fully grown." That's downright scrawny! I'll admit that my older cat Arlo is getting rather pudgy (he is known as a "fattus cattus"), but Woody is a lean, mean fighting machine (a "dingbatuss cattus") and he's about 12 lbs. Even the late, dyspeptic Stanley ("yackus cattus") was over 10lb before he slowly evaporated. |
