There are no "experts" here, but you'll find that most sailors who have a vague
eye for lines, construction, seaworthiness and so on, won't have many kind
things to say about the Macs.
Buy a sailboat. Buy a powerboat. Don't mush them together.

Sails better than a powerboat, powers better than a sailboat. Robert Perry
did a review on the new model several months back, you may want to look at
it. Of course, he didn't actually sail the thing, but if you have to go for
a test drive it shouldn't be too difficult.

If you have owned a boat before, then you probably know what you want.

If you are about to buy your first proper boat, then you should choose
either a good power boat, or a good sailing boat.


I used to be a power boater, and now I have a sailing vessel.


The big difference between the two is that Sailing involves the whole
crew/family. Power boating is a pastime that provides pleasure for the
driver ( the rest of the crew will want to reach their destination as
quickly as possible).
