Horvath asked:
What kind of sword? I've got plenty of swords. My favorite is an authentic samurai sword, with an engraved and painted dragon handle. I did some touch up on the handle myself. Most people would call it a "katana." Gendaito, shinken, and a whole buncha other Japanese words are all appropriate; but katana pretty much describes it accurately. But why do I suspect you're ****ing with me? I'm a practitioner, not a collector; but I don't think "authentic" samurai swords have engraved and painted dragon handles. Those are usually reserved for cheap Chinese or Indonesian knockoffs made with stainless steel blades, commonly referred to as "wall hangers." No reputable dojo would ever allow the use of such a sword. If there is such a thing as an historic katana with a carved dragon handle, you've certainly harmed its value by doing your own touchup on it. And if you're not ****ing with me, I apologize for my cynicism. I'm just *very* excited about it and maybe a bit defensive, given that my wife occasionally reminds me that we could have bought a new car instead. Frank |

Maybe you use your "excitement" for a

Nil, you make such a wide target of yourself it is impossible to not step on you in any thread. IF you insist on painting a big bullseye on your ass then you have to live with getting a sharp stick in it wherever you post. You are such an easy target ... Bwahahahahahahahaahah ... obtained a hobby? Got stuck with a broken derelict. Rick |

It's folded steel. Made in Spain. I was describing my sword. Yours is, as I suspected, a cheap knockoff, a step above Chinese stainless, but still... an authentic *Spanish* Samurai sword? Go ahead and do all the touchups you want; you can't harm the value of something which has none to begin with. ....snip... You should have got the car. I like the car I have now; but thanks for the advice. Got any stock market recommendations for me? |

Your Folded steel spanish samari katana is the joke of the century. Just wait and your folded steel blades finish will start flaking off just like on the dragon, after all its just a cheap fake of the real thing embellished for idiots that know nothing. Your a fool.
