I finally managed to find, download and install updated drivers
for my little scanner (TravelScan) so now I am able to use it with WinXP since my Win98 machine expired last month. I can scan my old license in, change the expiration date using Photoshop and pint it and then hang it on the bulkhead as decoration as suggested by that jealous fellow otnmbrd. But, I doubt I'll do it as my renewal is probably in the mail or close to it. In the meantime it's not worth changing the information on my site because it is still true. Then you should remove your "lesson" on the rules from the web before some naive newbie reads it. Jeff, Have you read it lately? I took your advice and actually added something about sailboats overtaking to the in- sight Rules. Here it is if you're too lazy to check it out for yourself. "The following list of rules are of more immediate concern to most of you novices. These rules concern how two sailing vessels should act in meeting, crossing, and passing situations. 1) If the wind is attacking the starboard rail of the sailboat, it is said to be on a starboard tack. The rules state simply: Starboard tack has the right of way over port tack. 2) When both vessels are on the same tack, the upwind vessel gives way. 3) A sailboat on a port tack, not being sure of tack of the other sailboat (fog or darkness), shall give way. "Three simple rules and they cover it all. You should know these rules in your sleep. (Don't forget, however, that a vessel being overtaken is always the stand-on vessel) "Now, combine these rules with a working knowledge of the ones listed prior to these and you should have a very good basic understanding of how to carry on while sailing." Are you happy now? S.Simon |

S.Simon Well, I have to admit that she has gone a lot farther in life, and achieved a higher position than you have. If, as you state, she rarely sails, then that means she even sails more than you. All we know is that she is an entry level receptionist at a rather small SNF. Her status as an HR person is based on the fact that her facility is so small that the receptionist doubles as the HR person. She's far from being any sort of professional. I am not the receptionist. The receptionist's name is Nicole. I am the office manager/nad HR manager of the SNF and also the HR manager of the independent and assisted living center which are on the same campus. The nursing facility is just one part of my job. I run payroll for over 200 employees, manage the benefit program, and oversee office equipment and machinery. I have worked hard to get to the position I hold, and no little guttersniping has-been like yourself needs to make any comments. So Bill, shut your yap, and go back to your bottle. You are one level above Burger King. You are not any sort of management. You are a secretary in a small organaisation who has been saddled with the extra duty of HR without any extra compensation. The organization is too small to have a separate HR person. You are also probably in charge of ordering office supplies. They just take adbvantage of you because it is so easy to do. Careerwise, you are nobody. BB |

Didn't I tell you that there are NO typos on my website?
But there are LOTS of funny pictures of your boat! RB |

One can never have too many pictures of such a fine
vessel. People all over the world are able to become familiar with her so when I show up in their home ports they will then know they are in the presence of a great and world's famous Master Mariner. However, I don't doubt (unbeknownst to me) I've passed frequent security screenings/checks, since I deal with the Navy on a frequent basis..... and that's all that would be required of someone taking Bush senior fishing. I'm required by law to tell people that I've never had access to classified information. Hero@Horvath I don't spend my money on food. I spend most of my money on women, porn, booze, and recreation. The rest of it I just waste. |
