These people were 100% confident that WMD would
be discovered shortly after the war ended. A sensible person would revise
his opinions if his predictions were not borne out by reality.

This is not about truth for them. It's about being right.

Exactly!

That is why neither you, nor The Naviagtor, will accept any proof that Jesus
existed. You have both already made up your minds.

That's interesting but he's reporting hearsay. He doesn't actually talk
about miracles so there's no evidence of divinity.

He did mention the resurection, I'd call that a miracle.

However, since Josephus was borne after Jesus died, his reports aren't quite
contemporary. Further, his very brief description of the Christians in the
middle of a quite extensive book is more like "faint praise."

Of course there were
probably lots of teachers that could have filled that description. If he
had known him it first hand and included corroborating evidence first
hand that would have been good. What concerns me is why are the contents
of the dead sea scrolls being kept secret?

Since 1991 photos of the scrolls have been available to all scholars, with no
publication restrictions.

It's more a matter of convenient confusion and obfuscation
than people having one or two names at the time.

For example, I know of at least one local Old Thom. In
the future if someone writes about Old Thom many many
people will not have a clue as to whom the writer refers.

Same goes for this Jesus legend. Had those who believe
been more concerned with accuracy that could be proven
than a legend that could be exploited they would have
easily been able to give this Jesus legend a name that
could more easily prove his existence for future generations.

Simple;

There you go again; History according to Neal Warren.

What was Abraham last name? David? Moses? Soloman? Plato? Alexander, the
great?

Even today. in Islamic Societies many go with just one name, without a
surname.

There is a great question about Mary and Joseph's trip for the census.
Was it really a census at that time and was that why the trip was taken.
Jewish professy was that the Master would be born of "The House of
David," which was Bethelham. Is that the way they got Jesus' birth
there? I don't know but the story has a lot of people using just one
name.

Can you enlighten me, Neal?

The more I think I know the more questions I have.

No I haven't. I just haven't been given proof and your belief does not
convince me.

I didn't see a description of his being dead for days and then coming to
life. I just saw a reference to his being alive for 3 days on the cross.
Did I miss it?

That's not what I saw in a recent documentary. Are there pictures of
them on the web or scraps that reveal nothing?

More nonsense. The Bible is great literature, possibly the finest ever written.
The problem is that some people think it is the word of God. Worse, they choose
to interpret it for their own means.

I'm particularly fond of Genesis and the other ancient writings - an interesting
collection of stories chosen as the basis for a relationship with God and as a
moral code.

The Bible has got to be the second
biggest joke on humanity right after the concept of
organized religion worshipping whatever God they
happen to fancy.

The Bible is the ultimate "How To cheat and scam People out of Money, Freedom
and Truth" manual.
The funny part is that people read it. They disregard elements and keep others
to support their system. It's no different from Horrorscopes, though more
sophisticated.

The phrase in a translation I've seen is "He appeared to them spending a third
day restored to life." But again, this was written 60+ years after the fact.

News seems to be very slow getting to you. You can get a translation of major
portions and any bookstore.

The Huntington Library will loan microfilm to researchers:

Does that mean they won't be celebrating Christmas this year?

Then why are they secret?

Only the Vulcans know. My guess is that Jeff is probably Vulcan, or at the very
least half Vulcan.
