Doug, That was worth 5 pts. I researched the boat. It rates between 72 and 75. Those are fabulous numbers, and it is a fabulous looking boat. Thanks for bringing it into the discussion. I haven't sailed one, but apparently some of the people who have weren't horribly impressed. http://old.cruisingworld.com/forums/...x.pl?read=6861 I can't believe a J35 would outsail one very often or by very much, but then the Express 37 and the Schock 35 are both pretty fast boats with real cabins. A Mumm 36 would leave it in the dust. They all cost more too. The Capri 37 is pretty much a big daysailor, but it would be possible to use some amenities in the cabin. It's a Grand Prix styled boat but it's really not Grand Prix fast... but watching them sail in the Congressional Cup and some of the other events that use them, they look like a lot of fun to sail. That was my feeling. You can't
one design race them, so that leaves PHRF--which might be fun, day sailing, and overnight cruising--or if you are a hard core sailor, extended cruising --since it is weak on the inside and cramped. I'd love to try one out. And the price is low because of the competition. It would be a good boat for having fun, without breaking your wallet, and a bad boat to impress the ladies. I can hear them complaining. "But there is nothing on the inside..." Bart DSK wrote The Capri 37 is pretty much a big daysailor, but it would be possible to use some amenities in the cabin.
