Got a bit of a surprise today, BS e-mailed me and told me that he was
inspired by my account of my recent offshore trip and he was planning one
himself in the not-too-distant, having finally located a capable bluewater
vessel.

Ft. Lauderdale. P.E. is where the freight carriers go, if I'm not mistaken.
That view of the lower half of that cruise ship was blocked by buildings,
from a distance it looked like another building.

I've been to Key West when a cruise ship was docked at Mallory Square. It
was the tallest structure in Key West!!!

The photo was taken from a vessel in the Port Everglades entrance from
the sea to the turning basin. The Red "12" marking the turn to the north
to the 17th causeway bridge is in the center of the photo.

Just as I thought. I sail in there when I go south from Hillsborough inlet.
