Don't know or understand the difference between chassis ground and earth
ground do you?

Yaba dabba do, to you.

Coronal discharge of the antenna tip or failure to provide a dc path

from
the antenna "hot" to "cold".

Earth ground or water ground does very little for a VHF radio. The

whole
rig
can "float" and work great.

I'd suspect a bad ground somewhere, remove and clean all

connections,
replace
same and tighten well. Are you using any of those automotive type

crimp

connectors?

I heard it was not flat but contained lots of dimples from 'cellulite'

Sorry, Donal, I've seen LPs ass and it is broad and flat.
Very unappealing even to her lesbo friends.

OK, you know those balls with the 'lightning' flying around inside
them?
You know what happens when you put yor hand near the ball.
Hopefully the ball is an insulator!

Now go away and think about it.

As you are so superior, why don't you just explain it?

I'm astonoshed that MC puts up with your smugness. Doug would have simply
answered the bloody question.

You are clever. I am a complete idiot.

Now, why don't you tell me about static on the VHF?

Regards

Do you know what capacitance is? Does z=1/wc mean anything to you?

Cheers MC

I was talking about Mooron. Try to keep up.

Perhaps he doesn't feel qualified to speak about VHF matters.

I really don't have a problem with somebody sounding like they actually know
what they are talking about. Why do you?

In fact, ... if a complete stranger, on rhe other side of the world, writes
something that increases my enjoyment of sailing, then *I* win. I really
don't care if he is better, or worse, than me.

Likewise, in the unlikely event that Oz would write something useful - then
I would thank him.

Yes.

It's too late.... Impedance= 1 over (w??)* capacitance????

As you can see, it is many years since I did this sort of stuff. I am
probably capable of understanding, if you wish to explain further.

If you floss after bushing you'l reduce the chances of tooth decay.

Wiping your dick on the hand towel is not good form.

Thanks!

Have you anything useful to say about sailing?

If you are capacitatively coupled to a device you will alter it's high
frequency response. You may either shunt signals to ground or act as an
antenna. The magnituide of the effect depend on your coupling and/or the
frequency of interest.
