You need a hardware router to be really secure... even
then it's possible. "Simple Simon" wrote in message ... Never got a virus or worm yet. Don't have any spyware installed. There is nothing getting in or out of my computer without my knowing it because I also have Kerio personal firewall installed. I only allow in and out those programs I choose to allow. I've checked on DSL Reports and they can't even see my computer. I even have to allow their pings in or those wouldn't get through either. S.Simon "HUh?" wrote in message . .. My lavasoft is a cracked pay version with auto-updates. Nothing but the best for a Captain, ya know. As far as the spams go . . . Some are for vitamins and minerals, some are for Viagra and other drugs for dieting, many are from porno sites and things to grow a bigger willy and hair on one's head, many more are those stupid bogus Microsoft update attachment carrying a virus type and many are those 'undeliverable mail' carrying the same virus type at 125 to 145 kilobytes each they are a pain in the ass. These demonstrate the stupidity of the computing public because every one of them represents some idiot who opened and ran the exe in the attachment. I always delete all cookies after visiting porno sites and I never visit the pay sites as there is plenty enough good nudie pics for wallpapers, etc. available for free. S.Simon "Ric" wrote in message ... You have to pay for lavasoft (unless you are using poxy trialware version). And I still reckon you've been looking at too many porno sites. Hardware firewalls and software firewalls, and even browser firewalls (e.g.,
IEGuard) are not a substitute for spyware blockers. When browsing, you open ports and give permissions. Otherwise you couldn't communicate with websites. It is legal, easy and common for websites, advertisers and others to penetrate your computer and plant spyware as part of their web interaction with you. Now days, sophisticated spyware doesn't call home until you open a connection. Then it piggybacks so that firewalls won't block it ...hardware or software. The only way to control most of the spyware out there today is to spot it via its signature (kinda like virus protection). Spywareblaster works like that. It prevents activex spyware from being downloaded (including the Dallas Times Herald and the New York Times, and a lot of well known companies). Spybot, a companion piece, will clean your hard drive. -- www.cowboymob.com "Jonathan Ganz" wrote in message ... You need a hardware router to be really secure... even then it's possible. Correct. However, the hardware router does have advantages,
especially if you have a network. I have several software solutions in place to identify, block, and/or remove spyware. "HUh?" wrote in message y.com...
