My ISP seems to be having trouble keeping Spam Assassin running
on their server so I had to download, install and configure my
own personal spam filter as I got over 180 spams today about
half of which were those stupid bogus Microsoft Update swenn virus
attached e-mails and undeliverable mail with the same attached.

So far the above free software seems to be doing a great job
eliminating spams and I've only begun to train the software.

Try it you might like it.

Well... I really don't get any Spam. I don't have any spam killer either.
Never got a Microsoft Update virus. I've never gotten any virus. I never
gotten any Worm or Trojan Virus either.

You've been browsing too many porno sites. Install Spybot (freeware) from
www.kolla.de, and that will kill all the spyware cookies in your system
which are sending out your email address.

You have to pay for lavasoft (unless you are using poxy trialware version).
And I still reckon you've been looking at too many porno sites. I bet all
those 180 spams per day are advising you to grow a bigger willy.

My lavasoft is a cracked pay version with auto-updates.
Nothing but the best for a Captain, ya know.

As far as the spams go . . .

Some are for vitamins and minerals, some are for Viagra and
other drugs for dieting, many are from porno sites and things
to grow a bigger willy and hair on one's head, many more are
those stupid bogus Microsoft update attachment carrying a
virus type and many are those 'undeliverable mail' carrying
the same virus type at 125 to 145 kilobytes each they are a
pain in the ass. These demonstrate the stupidity of the
computing public because every one of them represents
some idiot who opened and ran the exe in the attachment.

I always delete all cookies after visiting porno sites and I
never visit the pay sites as there is plenty enough good nudie
pics for wallpapers, etc. available for free.

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but ad aware can find only 3% of the
spyware out there. You need both Spybot and SpywareBlaster working together
to remove and protect against software being planted on your computer. Both
are free. http://spybot.eon.net.au/

You need to catch up on security. You are mining stuff you learned two or
three years ago, just like lava-soft. Things have changed a great deal in
the last three years. Anyone using any browser, or HTML or rich text Email
without the proper tools in place is vulnerable, especially if using MS
products.

There is nothing getting in or out of my computer without my

I only allow in and out those programs I choose to allow. I'm
constantly getting little pop-up messages from the firewall that
so and so from such and such a domain wishes to access port
such and such and I don't allow any of that crap in.

I'm safe. I've checked on DSL Reports and they can't even see

get through either.

Hardware firewalls and software firewalls, and even browser firewalls (e.g.,
IEGuard) are not a substitute for spyware blockers. When browsing, you open
ports and give permissions. Otherwise you couldn't communicate with
websites. It is legal, easy and common for websites, advertisers and others
to penetrate your computer and plant spyware as part of their web
interaction with you. Now days, sophisticated spyware doesn't call home
until you open a connection. Then it piggybacks so that firewalls won't
block it ...hardware or software. The only way to control most of the
spyware out there today is to spot it via its signature (kinda like virus
protection). Spywareblaster works like that. It prevents activex spyware
from being downloaded (including the Dallas Times Herald and the New York
Times, and a lot of well known companies). Spybot, a companion piece, will
clean your hard drive.

Correct. However, the hardware router does have advantages,
especially if you have a network.

I have several software solutions in place to identify, block, and/or
