Less than half the country sold their vote for $300...and now a lot of people
are dead because of it.
Hope you're happy with our laughing stock president Bush.

I don't know about the various and sundry halfs. Mine cost you $50,000 a
year . . .after taxes. As a bonus you finally got the infamous mass graves.
Didn't make a dime off Kosovo though .. . .course there weren't any graves
either. Anyone ever figure out why the US invaded Kosovo?
hmmmmmmmmm....... Now if we can just get that support the troops bill
through congress. . . .we'll go back to supporting the troops . . . as long
as you pay. Being a good union member and shop steward I gotta say . . .God
Bless America. . . especially on payday. Thanks for the memories!!!!!

And you would be happy with deadwood Gore?

I don't spend my money on food. I spend most of my money
on women, porn, booze, and recreation. The rest of it I just waste.

We never did invade Kosovo.

In any event, if you need a "reason" then it would be the same as invading
Iraq.... only less proiftable...

True .. . .by the way Doug I have to admit you were right all along. This
union business is definitely the way to go. Once I decided to give up and
join in life got better, dramatically better, immediately. Right now we're
all hanging and waiting for the new budget to get passed. There's lots of
paychecks in that one. I find that most, with few exceptions, don't make
the same mistake as Bobspit. That is trying to apply standards and values
to the situation when you represent a bankrupt and .how shall I say it . .
faintly ridiculous to silly but completely amoral . .yes that's it . .
..viewpoint. It's enough for my membership, the union brothers and sisters,
to take the money and leave the why's to those with lots of time to waste on
such nonsense. Only thing thats important is how much and who's signing the
check. Sorry I missed you on the lower Chesapeake and I'm still reading
your book amongst others. I missed, I'm sure, the threads on how your
summer trip turned out. In any case .. . . I bet the thread had enough hook
in it to get somebody thrashing in the water. Doubtless those who never
understood the "real" .asa.

Cheers and what do you have planned next?

No, I'm not happy with The Shrub. OTOH I was even less happy when
Clintoon turned a popular food guarding mission into "nation building"
that got our Special Forces shot up (Blackhawk Down) by refusing them
the tanks they'd asked for - you know, the tanks FBI used to murder
religious kooks in Idaho and Texas. And lest we forget, we're reminded
by the stat's on "illegal aliens", most of who'd have green cards if
Clintoon hadn't diverted INS into a crash effort to get enought Aliens
qualified to vote to unseat the congressman (Doonan) who'd blown the
whistle on his little misadventure. Or the sale of MIRV technology to
the Red Chinese Army after his deal to sell them the Long Beach Navy
Yard fell thru.

And before that 1000s of hemophiliacs and gays died of AIDS because
Ronnie Dearest didn't allow anybody to say "condom" in the Whiite House
and JFK and his whiz kids, who gave us the Bay of Pigs, bombers that
crashed and ships that couldn't fight; all topped off with the Vietnam
War; and don't forget Honest Ike, so wedded to the Mafia that his grand
dragon of the FBI, Gay Herbie, swore organized crime didn't exist. And
before that ....

Actually, what I meant to say is "We didn't invade Kosovo, we bombed the heck
out of it and then occupied it, in conjunction with a large number of allies."

If you can't fight 'em, join 'em. Of course, I myself would no more join a union
that I'd become a opera tenor. But then so far I've had the good luck to do
fairly well on my own.

So does that mean you all don't vote in national elections?

Only thing thats important is how much and who's signing the

heh heh and if it turns out to be the best course of action, after weighing all
options... don't hesitate to bite the hand that feeds you.

Sorry I missed you on the lower Chesapeake and I'm still reading

It was a hoot. You'd have been amused by our night run through Norfolk harbor,
right after the hurricane had put most nav aids out o'biznezz. We were spotting
channel markers by the lights from the Navy choppers and trying plot how far out
of position they were.....

In any case .. . . I bet the thread had enough hook

Not sure I understand it myself. Is any of this "real"?

Cheers and what do you have planned next?

Finish installing this heating system in the boat, with a few lesser projects
ongoing simultaneously... weekending... crewing in some local PHRF races for
laughs.

I got a phone call yesterday from a guy who used to crew with me in the
Lightning, he wants to buy it (or a newer one) and hit the district racing
circuit, splitting time with me skippering & crewing. We'll see if anything
comes of that.....

Like I said .. the only thing that matters is the paycheck. Or as we used
to say back in the green machine 'do'n mean nuthin, do'n mean a thing." You
can drive yourself nuts thinking 'caring' means anything . .. it doesn't.
I got through twenty years in the infantry with a healthy mercenary
attitude. Something I and the union movement have in common. I like it.
I'm home.

Here's the real question for allyou flag wavers of whatever variety. If
you took away the pay and benefits and relied on 'patriotism' how many
troops would be standing tall at first formation next Monday morning? For
a hint look up the number of 'volunteers' back in WWII and compare to number
that had to be conscripted.

Also I'm fanatically anti-draft.

If society is worth saving enough will come forward voluntarily. If enough
do not come forward the society was not worth saving. (not quoted exactly)

One of the big buoy markers was beached right near us. We were by the
coaling piers next to the Merrimac Bridge/Tunnel. We came back the Sunday
after.

As for your other question . .. no you don't bite the hand that feeds you.
If it quits feeding you go to work for someone else. Loyalty lasts as long
as does the paychecks. After that you don't look back.

So did anyone ever figure out why Clinton bombed Kosovo. Wasn't the mass
graves theory since there aren't any. Wasn't oil . ..there isn't any.
Bigger question is why the admirals and generals violated the War Powers Act
and their oaths of office. Think about it and you have your answer. Marks
the first time the military turned their back on nation, constitution and
laws. And you dummies think this latest one is about 'support our troops?'
What it's about is, thanks to Bubba, your opinion doesn't matter and neither
do the laws of the country. Sleep well tonight . . . THEIR troops are on the
alert. Hey! That's me too isn't it?

Smile Big!
