If you have a laptop with a Radeon IGP 320M video adapter
do NOT download and install the new driver for it offered at Microsoft's update site compliments of ATI Technologies. I downloaded it a couple weeks ago and installed it and it had a few new adjustments and bells and whistles but I attempted to play a DVD last night for first time since installing the new driver and it made a mess out of the playback. It was slow, jerky and stopped completely at times as if there was not enough memory or something. Anyway, after trying just about everything in the book I realized the problem had to be caused by the new software so I rolled back to the old driver and VOILA the DVD played just great again. I hope this may help a poor lost soul or two. S.Simon - willing to share his knowledge gratis. |
