I heard from Haggie earlier today....said the Bay was empty...also ehard =
from our son in Pusan...said it is a royal mess there...the waterfront =
is torn apart and strewn with steel and that the city is in desperate =
shape. Pusan is in a bowl durrounded by the sea and by mountains with =
one x-way out....

I'm doing fine Thom! The boat is riding comfortably still and the dog is
curled up in my lap asleep. I expect the power will go off in the next hour
or so and my 'puter battery isn't the best...

Guess it's time for a beer!

Pony is well tied in her slip. Dock neighbor is gone so I cross-tied from
his far outer pile to the stern and from the far side at the dock to the
bow. Likewise on the other side. Lines at about 40' so there's plenty of
room for the surge. Surge shouldn't hit till tomorrow morning and the winds
should have diminished some. Right now is blowing in the 30's with gusts to
near 50k.
So far so good.

I've been down on the boat since last Sat (9-6-03). Finished tying her up
last night and came home. Got a mid-day report from Steve that she's OK so
far. I moved her from my slip, down to where there is 3 empty slips in a
row, took the middle slip and tied off from the outer pilings of the 3
slips. (4 springs, 4 bow lines, 4 stern lines).

Doug is probably without electric right now.

It seems like things are calming down some! Could it be? The computer

Ringmaster made out fine at the floating marina in Baltimore. I was down
there at 1:30 AM Friday morning at what I thought would be the height of the
winds and tides. The docks had about 4 feet to go before they would go "over
the top" A friend called me Friday afternoon when the storm was gone to tell
me the surge had grown more. The docks got within 10"-12" from going "over
the top" I sailed the boat back to it's home marina today. The place had been
under water Thursday night but there didn't seem to be any damaged boats. I
still think it was a good move going to a floating marina.
Best news was that the power was back on when I got home.

Not really. I started to see lots of wood floating when I got outside the Key

Actually, we didn't sail home - we keep the boat in Fell's Point. But there
is still a lot of debris in the Patapsco - large chunks of wood probably
from docks.
I did see a few of the Army Corps of Engineers cleaning crews out on the
waters, picking stuff up. But even with that, we stil saw more stuff today.
Really need to be careful while sailing around.
Yeah, we went for a sail today, simply because it was so quiet on the
water - very few boats out.
