Please explain to the group why and how a camera would be of use for a 2:00 am
entrance to Port Jeff.

1) To heat up the cover on the compass which was stuck on.
2) To start a small contained signal fire.
3) Underside of lid can be used to create large reflective signal surface ICW
small flashlight

Sadly, we deemed the entrance unworthy of such measures. The charts were
enough. But the Radar was powered up and on standby and I had Spock on the com
the whole time in case I needed a beam-up!

But, in the end, it was easier to scuttle the boat and paddle in on the
liferaft?

Well Bob.. since you claimed you don't know how to use a radar and find it's
"complicated".. the off switch is your best bet.
