| In 3 days we will Sailing out to go diving on a underwater crater
| called Molokini. Not just to enjoy the 80 degree water temp and the
| fact you can see over 100 feet because the water is that clear. Not
| just to see the green turtles, morays, frogfish, scorpionfish,
| trumpetfish, reef sharks, leopard rays, manta rays, whale sharks, and
| humpbacks. But to enjoy the Love. Ive been told that every year
| exactly 15 days after the full moon, all of the coral reefs in the
| area breed. They launch billions of what I call seeds. Not sure if its
| like sperm, eggs or pollen but seeds the size of small peas. Suppose
| to be quite a show. We got permission from a Capt of a NOAA boat to
| come along side and tie to them while we dive. They have some sort of
| dynamic positioning system that holds them in place. Most likely wont
| need it because the coral reefs wait till the water is almost dead
| still to start,.... u know..

Have you tried them? I think the NOAA guys might get mad if we start
frying the stuff. Molokini is a marine perserve.

The coral polyps on our reefs off the Keys also spawn in late
August. Must be triggered by the angle of the sun or something
like that. It's eggs.

Thats what Ive been told. The warmest month with the slackest tide.
Yet they have found out they will not spawn in storms, they will wait
till its over. All the reefs in the northern hemisphere spawn in
August.

Actually the stuff the Samoans feast on is more like a worm... but it's from
the coral reef. Yes .. I've eaten it. I think it's called Paloa [sic] ...
it's been years though and I could be mistaken about the name.
