From what I understood it's a 10 to 15 mile trip to his first hook then
another 40 to 45 miles to the Thimbles from there. In short it's a minimum of 50 miles and a maximum of 60 miles. Take into consideration that the distance over ground on a sailboat could well double those figures..... anyone else but Bob would stand a chance. Try as he might ... the skill of sail evades him due to his headlong rush for comfort and commodities. A simple overnight passage both ways would allow him to meet his targeted objective... but he lacks the ability to conduct his vessel after the sun sets.
