It's so powerful it will also allow us to take pictures of the boat at the
Islands!

Your credibility dictates that radio contact is not enough, nor are pictures.
Only confirmation by Bill of an Alien sighting will suffice at this point, and
that needs backup of photographic evidence of the meeting to allay any concerns
that you will have Sudzy bribe him. But first, get to the route planning that
Mooron is leading you by the nose to.

Don't you plan and route for forecast conditions? Although flexibility is a
good option... you really should have a benchmark to deviate from. It seems
like your only plans are dedicated to provisions and pastimes. This is
really the mark of a rank newbie in regards to sailing.

I think your estimate of 10 - 15 miles on Friday is a stretch. Your estimate
of the final destination at 45 miles the following day is doable but the
ETA would place you there late in the day. Why not plan for a 10 hour sail
at an average of 5 knots for Saturday and drop your departure time to 0500
hrs. That would give you a 2 hour motor with fresh weather data to plan
where you want to be when the day time breeze kicks in.... and place you at
your destination at 1500hrs.

I'd suggest a night sail to put you at final destination the following
morning.... but that's way beyond your skill level at the moment. I take it
you have a return date of Monday... considering your current estimate of
sailing 2 days to go 50 miles?

| Best you'll do is 7-8 hours for that trip Bob..... best ETA I can
forecast
| for you is 1700 hrs.
|
| We'll see. We may leave earlier on Saturday or take things further
tomorrow.
| Playing it as we go, but we'll get there.
| I'll be on channel 9 for Billy-Jane.

When one motors everywhere, one can set a more rigid schedule.

We'll be there, Mooron. It's not far, fer cripes sake. No wind, we'll power.
Too much wind, we'll reef. T-Storm, we'll ride it out.

It won't happen because it can't happen.... that's a given with his
existing plan.

We won't make Thimble Islands by Saturday?
Okay.

Bob... you are myopic in your assessment of my critique of your passage
planning. I've stated that your total routing will leave you insufficient
time to make the Thimble Islands destination for anything more than an
evening anchor. I doubt you will realize the destination because your return
leg will enforce an early departure for a full day of sailing to make the
one day passage that you allowed two days to achieve on the first leg. Can
you see why my assessment of your chances for success are so negative. I
forecast you will reassess and turn back before reaching the Thimbles solely
based on your current plans.

Your grasp has exceed your reach. Lower your expectations and achieve
success. I believe your destination is as probable as the chances of my ever
seeing an mpeg of you sailing on a reach with the helm free.... let alone an
engine hour meter.

not to mention the video of his donuts, or his ''trip to nowhere'' that he
bragged about and then chickened out.

At what point did you make the decision that we planned more than an evening
anchor?
