Hey Bob
Got to sail a 1989 C & C 37+ XL yesterday. I had been helping the
owner re-build his steering system. The Edson gear is above deck mounted and the idler wheel plate had rotted out to nothing. The boat is a real rabbit, fast and agile. Takes a heel and locks in. A bit too fussy with check and baby stays. Probably the single most uncomfortable big boat I have ever sailed in my life. There is not one single comfortable place on deck to sit, stretch out ,recline, brace, etc. Cushions don't help. Its a racer,Bob, no matter how much they gussied it up. Cruising isn't even in second place. |
Hey Bob
Cushions don't help. Its a racer,Bob, no matter how much they
gussied it up. Cruising isn't even in second place. We've been aboard the 34 + XL version and didn't find it too uncomfortable. At least that wasn't our impression walking her deck and hanging out in the cockpit. We'll test sail her in September when the owner returns. Nothing is carved in stone. We've got our eyes wide open for a new boat, but the 34+xl looks like cruisable fun so far. R. |
Hey Bob
There is not one
single comfortable place on deck to sit, Sailmakers call the ankle busters. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" Trains are a winter sport |
Hey Bob
There is not one
single comfortable place on deck to sit, Sailmakers call the ankle busters. And yet the C&Cs are well loved, well regarded boats. Even YOU like them! Capt RB |
