Billy...please be standing by on Channel 9. We'll be heading your way on Friday
afternoon.
Shall I hail Binary Bill or a specific boat name?

Where will you be staying?

Actually...on board. We have no plans to do anything but sail, swim and row
around with the dinghy.

so I will likely be in the area. Just
tell me where you will be, and I'll make a point of swinging by to see
if you are there.

I'll leave my radio on channel 9 and I approach Thimble Islands. Who should I
hail?
Nothing evasive. It's a specific question. If you're around you'll hear me.
I'll be taking a lot of pics for the website.
Who shall I hail?

I don't LIVE near Branford. I don't monitor VHF when I'm at home. I
couldn't respond, even if I did, as I'm many miles inland.

Uh, you SAIL many miles inland? Didn't you just say you'll be sailing the area
during the weekend. If that's true, you'll hear me/see me.
I expect we'll be approaching the Thimble Islands Mid-Saturday. How's that?

Naturally, you'll post a picture showing a recognizable piece of
Alien,

Not a problem. You don't need the paper and I won't wander around the shore
looking for one. If you see us, the boat and the Islands, that's enough. Had I
been there you know I'd have posted pics by now.
Weather is looking GREAT for the weekend.

I will be sailing in that area during the weekend, but not ALL
weekend. I can see that you are trying to set up an out for yourself
already.

But I will be there for much of the weekend, making entirely probably that
you'll catch my hail. Stop being so difficult. Channel 9. I'm betting you'll
hear from me. I'll hail "Binary Bill" mid afternoon Saturday and on the return
Sunday. That's plenty of margin. There will be plenty of pics and I'll take
good ones of your boat if I see you!

Bill it's unfair to state you believe Bob won't show and yet be evasive
yourself about a contact. Why not just wait for a Hail and selectively hunt
him down in the mean time. It can't be that large an area

It isn't and he's being very evasive. I'll be there long enough to contact, if
he shows.
Channel 9. I'll try hailing from 12-6 pm at 30 minute intervals on Saturday.
I'll also have plenty of pics to show come monday. I'll also get a pic with my
Verizon phone, which shows date and time. It's fed from Verizon and can't be
changed.

I wouldn't bet on it. Line of sight only.

I don't live near Branford, so unless I happen to be sailing in the
area, hailing won't do you much good.

We'll be staying aboard. I easily make 30 miles on the VHF, so why won't
hailing work? If you're out there you'll hear me.
You'll look pretty silly when I post pics. Just leave the radio on channel 9.
