Hell you can buy a cheap
Firebird that can run with the Subaru. Yeah? Cut the HP of the WRX by 50 and the Firebird still loses because it can't handle worth a damn. The WRX goes through the Slalom faster than a new Vette and the Vette is no slouch...just cheaply made. RB |

I think they did that last week, actually. If it was I suppose they wouldn't be bragging about their AMC Pacer's so much. Besides, what is faster? A McLaren doing 65MPH or a Bugatti doing 65MPH? 55MPH in Ohio of course. Of course! Citroen used to have an ad stating that their 2CV was faster than a Ferrari (that was stuck behind it on a narrow road) Bertie |

LOL........... I told you you were living in the past. In the mid-60s engineers 3 years out of school easily earned over $10,000/yr. A nicely furnished apt fronting on a heated pool, with carport, cost $85/mo utilities included, or buy a new house for a year's pay. MGBs cost $2995, a well appointed vette $3500, XKEs or Cobras (the real ones) $5000 and Ferraris $10 to 12,500 depending on model. Gas was two bits a gallon and Jet Setters were whining that the "American peasant" had had it too good for too long!! Don't like sport cars? Fine. You could buy a Renault Dauphin, a nice little 4dr that seated 4 in comfort and got 35MPG, for $1600 or a well optioned US V8 for $2500. A '68 HO GTO could just pick its left front tire off the ground headed for a 12-second 1/4 mile, and it cost under $4000! Of course it'd only do 130 but ... Now we got cars that go over 200, but they cost over $200,000 too, and I don't know many "American peasants" in their mid-20s who can afford one. Ain't progress grand? |

Well Bud if I posted "nobody knows" that means neither I nor anyone else has driven one. AND I don't think I ever suggested that I did anyway. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" Trains are a winter sport |

Well Bud if I posted "nobody knows" that means neither I nor anyone else has
driven one. I've driven the late model Vette, WRX and WRX STI, NSX and quite a few late model sports cars. Loco has driven the Lincoln which can't match a Subaru, even though it's a "sports sedan." RB |

Ask anybody over 18 which one they would rather own. The LS won't beat a 55
Chevy street rod either. It's not the point and you know it or ugh do you. I'll take a loaded STI over the Lincoln ANYDAY. If I'm going to drive long distance, I'll take an Audi A6, another car built better than the lincoln. AWD cars rule. RB |
