Barrel rolling a 737 on delivery

Yep, that's right!

I barrel rolled a 737 we were delivering (empty) to Islip-McArthur!

Did the roll right over Block Island in daylight. The ATC's knew what we
were up to.

After the roll, this came over the COM channel:

"Spills any drinks boys?"

Got a great chuckle out of that!

I've flown so much in some many places and know so much about ARINC, RTCA,
NAVAIR, etc that your head would spin. In fact, Berties would spin like a
propellor right off his neck.

He's jealous that I am an icon as a pilot. In fact, I'm notorious for
turning off the transponder and barreling through controlled airspace!

Boy the passengers really pinch their butts when I do my patented
afterburner at Santa Ana! John Wayne's statue even has scorch marks.

Is Bertz jealous?

Will he bite?

Bite me Bertzie, bite hard!

Nope. You are obviously not a pilot.

Sorry Jaxholio.
Better luck next time.

I'm finding that very hard to believe. Not that a 737 could do it,
that they'd let you at all. What was your altitude at the start? How
much did you drop on the roll?

Wel, you wouldn't lose anyting. I've done it in the sim and know someone
who did it in a Convair 880 in the old days. they go around clean and it's
OK as long as you don't dish out at the end or let the nose down and get an
excess of speed going.

But Jax wouldn't know that except for reading it in some planespotter's
magazine or hanging out at the airport and talking to the lusers around the
coffee urn.
the only people who will talk to him, of course.

Maybe, but of course, yo know, most of the docs are online so he could
simply READ.

Icon? REAL pilots would call you an idiot.

Real pilots do.

Yeh, sure. Jaxhole.

I can tell you are a pilot.

I can tell you are not.

Do you think Bertz is? He's definitely not rated commercial. He's
no CFI or AF or PP either. Is the simulator he flies made by
Microsoft?

Maybe, do you think it matters to me what you think, though, Jaxhole?

Well?

Bertei

Hey Bertie; what do you think the reaction of the "Chief Pilot" would
be when he heard this tale after making sure the A/C was grounded for
a through inspection? I suspect it would be posible to hear all
comments several offices away.

I suspect you'd vbe able to hear him kicking someone's ass several miles
away!

I saw the result of a Military Stretch C-130 inadvertily being
"Barrel Roled" while doing "Stalls" in a Flight Test Program. It was
amazeing the A/C stayed together considering the number of "Rivets
that Poped". The A/C was twisted ~5 degrees from nose to tail. I have
a feeling a Military Stretch C-130 is a little tougher overall than a
comercial 737. Ralph Nesbitt

You can roll a 737 without damaging it, of course.

I don't think I need to say what Jaxhole's chances of doing it would be,
though.
