Post weekend Troll...I mean REPORT!
I'm already LOL about you free helm. You are talking about a couple of
minutes. Thom, who are you arguing with? Mooron asked to see it and I complied. He said that a fin keeler can't go to windward with a free helm, so I kindly offered a video. What's da matta with ya? RB |

Although, I've sailed from
Eton's Neck to Greenport without Auto pilot with a locked helm. It is a good exercise in trimming. It is something that is normally done in open water It's something that can be practiced anywhere. Who cares if it's only 10 minutes? It teaches trim and balance. Again, who are you debating here? Yourself? You seem so anxious to engage me in battle of some sort that you're inventing POVs. Relax. I really wasn't arguing I was laughing at anyone running an unmanned
helm in a area with fluky wind conditions in tight waters. Isn't the point, wasn't the point, and still isn't, Thom. I'm trying to help you. You seem angry. RB |

An instantaneous picture proves absolutely nothing
I'm providing a video in a few short days rather than a still. Why are you trying to spoil the fun for everyone? Don't download the video if it doesn't interest you. Golly! RB |

He had to roll it up to keep it from flapping around in the headwind created by the iron jenny. That is obvious. I think you better look at the pics again, dummy! Follow the jib sheet. The sail is visible, though washed out against the sky. New pic... http://community.webshots.com/user/scumbalino -- Wally I demand rigidly-defined areas of uncertainty! www.art-gallery.myby.co.uk |

I can't believe you claim to have passed a J24 with the sail trimmed that poorly.

Might not even go now, we'll see.
There are plenty who could replace me on the boat and do a better job particularly if I'm not fully fit. Well, the invite is there, in any case. I should warn you: I sail with my compass covered at times and my radio is not always on. I've also been spotted inside the breakwater with NO charts! I like the high risk stuff...I'm a sailor on the edge. RB |

You think that it is thick above deck you should get a look at it in the
forepeak, WOW! Thom, when we saw it sailing, the mast looked so massive it was hard to believe it wouldn't capsize the boat. Of course it's very light, but it's quite a sight. RB |

But why aren't you prepared to do an analysis of sail trim based on 3 square inches of clew? A real sailor would! "Cappys master" Cappy kneels for Ozzies wrote in message ... Sail trim phoooey, what you can really learn from Bubbles "pics" is that they
show ideal backstay tension for motoring. Are you sure, Duggy Wuggy?? RB |
