I'm Back

Go away for a bit and what does a person come back to? CandKelp....I'm assuming this is some new pseudonym Bobspit has picked
up in the last week....Did he get kicked off his ISP again?

Didn't bother to read much of the rest since it seemed to be more related to cars than boats.

We had a great time. Weather was fantastic.Blew like snot out on Lake Michigan yesterday and we touched 7knots several times
with our main and just a scarf of jib out. I got to crew on a Soveral 33 Wednesday night...downwind spinnaker start, which was
very exciting...

People at out new "home" are friendly and helpful...some really beautiful sailboats at MYC...

Only had one oopsy thing happen...the furler snagged rolling back up coming in on a reach....when Mr. Sails turned upwind it
just decided to catch so we had a moment of "WTF?" but a quick yark on the sail freed the line up and there were no more
problems...

Am not glad to be back (not that I don't love and didn't miss all of you) but this week was way too short and Monday is looming
way too soon.

Welcome back Katy,
With you gone I was 'forced' to read some Vonnegut, "Breakfast of
Champions." He's almost cynical (and definitely humorous) enough to be a
regular here.
I'm heading out tomorrow morning, be gone 'til Thursday, then heading out
again on Saturday for a couple of days. My boat is really only big enough
for 2 at a time. My wife says it's a subconscious plan to minimize the risk
of mutiny.

I have mutinied many times when it has just been Mr Sails and myself sailing along....Mutiny is the chicken soup of
sailing....husband's need one every once in a while to remember that their place is alongside, not directing from aloft....

Lose that wind up before it gets you into real trouble. Will
you people never listen to me? I harp and I harp and you
still go on your merry, lazy and ignorant ways with accidents
waiting to happen that could cause severe damage to your
boat or injury to your person. If is isn't a hanked-on sail
it isn't a real sail. If it isn't a hanked-on sail it's a lubberly
attempt at a sail.

Welcome back Sailor,

Thanks, Thom. We did do another straight from winter to summer again this year. Past week was perfect, though, with only one
day of gray and even that wasn't too bad.

What's a girdle? Doesn't that rather date you in your knowledge of women's underwear? My Mom and Gramma wore girdles. That
makes you at least 70. (Or is that the particular piece of underwear that fascinated you from your mother's lingerie drawer?)

land-locked

The Great Lakes are not land-locked...better look at an atlas now and again....The Great Salt Lake is land-locked...you can
travel from any of the Great lakes to the Gulf or to the Atlantic with a sailboat...as long as you know how....or want to....I
have sailed in the Gulf, I have been to the Atlantic and the Pacific. I still prefer the Great Lakes. They are fresh water,
there are no creatures that feast on man, there are no poisonous stinging things, the freighter traffic is much lower, and the
average age of the person out on them is well below 65, unlike your habitat where the average age is well above 65. Even if I
were to choose someplace else, it would not be subtropical...would probably be more Eastern seaboard or Northwest.

Speaking of that nefarious individual, there was a man at the yacht club this past weekend who oddly resembled the pics of Jax

No...the guy was just an incredible look-alike...he was way too young to be Jax and had a pretty wife and a new baby...Gave me a
turn, though, for a minute since Jax has professed in the past to have had some affiliation with Torresen's, and since
Torresen's is next door to the yacht club I was a bit leery for a few....
