Isn't the Lincoln a Jag in drag?

No, sadly, these days its the other way around.

Rubbish!

You're in denial, my friend. All you must do is simply sit in one to know it.

Actually I'm a Mitsudishi fan. I have an AWD Magna/Diamante
Sports...nice car.

Yea, looks like a nice one, and they have a wagon too. We have an order in for
a Volvo v70R and an Audi S4, both 4wd sport wagons, and will take whichever
arrives first. Wife insisted on a wagon and I am happy to oblige.

The press went wild over the current suspension when the
current version Vette was introduced a few years ago.

Just as I thought. The "press!" Please let us know when you actually drive a
car.

Yes the LS shares the same ridgid aluminum platform as the S Type. Contrary to
what you would think they made the LS the handeling car and the Jag the plush
rider.

Looked at the Volvo but its much more expensive here that the Mitsu.
Great car though, if Mitsu hadn't brought out the AWD I'd have had the
Volvo.
No AWD Mitsu Wagon here yet...are you getting them?

I've never seen the wagon here, and I don't think the AWD makes it either. I
would bet that the US version is detuned also.

The vette IS wonderful. I drove several, including the 2001 and it's an amazing
car. Until you drive the NSX or RX-8. They are very different, but they do
something the vette can't do as well. They make you feel you can do
anything...and deliver.
I strongly suggest you test drive either.

I have a friend who had an Audi and it fell apart. Even the rear sway bar
fell off while going down a highway. Most people who buy Audis learn to like
the waiting room at their dealer's service dept.
As far as getting your money's worth on a BMW .... Instead of buying a Honda
Accord look-a-like with a stiff suspension for twice the money I'd rather buy
the Accord and buy aftermarket springs and shocks. And we haven't even covered
the bend over and lube up service dept. prices at your friendly local BMW
dealer. It just kills me how some owners brag how reliable BMWs are when some
normal service procedures replace expensive parts like distributors at $600 a
pop. If you keep a BMW for any length of time and take it to the dealer for
maintenance you wind up replacing anything that would go bad - you just do it
before it goes bad. BMWs are a joke.

The Audi's are sweet. We may get one when Suzanne is done with school. I
wish
they'd update the body style a bit.

With all your bucks why not now?

The Subaru is a capable car, perfect and safe for going to School. It's a
loaded special edition with twin sunroof, leather interior, heated seats &
wipers...quite nice for a AWD wagon under 30K. There's even a NOAA weather
radio and room for the girls and sailing stuff! Amazing car during the bad snow
we had here. We drove through all of it.
Downside: Not a ton of power from the engine. Two much road noise until I
bought better tires. I'm doubtful about the heated wipers being effective.
There's a new 6, but it's overpriced against the competition.

Note to group: Think back on how many times Bobadil has made extensive use of
items from the press to try and support his own agendas and positions.

I've driven a late model vette. You haven't. I've also driven an NSX more than

Yeah...the NSX is a bit pricey. It's one refined car though...even when it was
introduced.
I think that's why the Japanese sports cars get more respect. They seem to have
virtually no refinement curve, They start out great. When the Nissan 300 TT
came out, it was beating the Vette of the day. That's impressive, and more than
sad for the Vette which was riding on it's checkered history. Hell, even the
funny Starion should have been a wake up call to GM.

Its a VW passat with a great engine. The Volvo is much larger and has a better

Besides the Audi release keeps getting pushed back and they are now talking

A new car!

Time was when Euro's and Americans had similar narrow winding roads.
Euro's optimized their cars to suit these roads, resulting in nimble
handling and braking. Americans fixed the roads instead then built cars
to suit them, cars that emphasize comfort over nimbleness. And as a
result of that trend, from WW2 on, most US firstborn were concieved in a
car. Were it not for those enormous wallowing boats, many of you would
never have been born!

When asked about Shelby's Cobras beating his sport cars Ferrari said
that he hadn't noticed because world-class racing emphasized GT Cars,
and Americans couldn't make a winning GT car. Within a year, his best
GTs were slipstreaming Ford GT-40s, trying unsuccessfully to keep up.
Sure, GT-40s were half Brit but I'll bet few of you ever heard of the
1700 Lb gull wing Stingrays Chevy's Duntov built but GM crushed to avoid
offending the insurance industry. I watched one of them not just beat
but lap Porsche's fastest 6-banger open GT. But that's not the real
world. When it comes to crossing Texas on I-10 or sex behind the Baptist
church, we'd really rather have a Buick (c:
