No boo-hoo here, Bobwimp. That documentation says it was issued July 9th. That
still supports the fact that you are a liar.

We'll have a further laugh at you when the documentation shows up on the other,
more detailed, database, and shows who has a boat and who doesn't.

I have all of the paperwork, billy. The boat was registered to Suzanne and
paperwork was entered by the coastguard on may 13, 03 at 10:34 am. They also
sent me the previous bill of sale, which was odd. We actually handed the
paperwork in to the dealer before May, but they did it later. Boo hoo!!! So

file jointly or seperate due to tax/asset liability?
I suggest you get some financial aid if nothing above helps you understand why

Essentially, yes. She may potentially have a claim on your "assets" in
a divorce lawsuit, but not any item specifically that is in your name
only. You have no specific rights of ownership on the boat. None at
all.

I don't know how to break it to you, but anything purchased after a marriage
with no prenup is jointly owned with only clothing being defendable in court!
It's a sad fact, but totally true. It doesn't matter who's name the boat, car
or any other item is in. But there are certain tax loopholes. E-mail me
off-list and I'd be happy to share them with you!

It is really not all that complicated. New York, being an "equitable
distribution" state divides property as follows:

http://www.nydivorceonline.com/nypag...debt%20div.asp

"How property and debts are divided when you get divorced.

If parties agree on all aspects of the divorce, this may include
property division. In cases of fault-based divorce, the judge in New
York will apply the traditional rules of "equitable distribution".

This means that the judge can do whatever he or she thinks is fair.
However, there are broad guidelines relating to the property division.
In marriages of long duration property acquired during the marriage is
generally divided on a 50/50 basis. The ratio would be different for
shorter marriages. The court also considers which party contributed
more assets to the marriage."

Seems fair, I suppose. Without knowing the specifics but based on
your statements that your credit sucks and Suzzy has great credit, it
seems unlikely that the Judge would consider you anything more than a
deadbeat mooch and would award the paltry assets to the victim of this
sham marriage, i.e. Suzzy.

I guess your "tax profile", i.e. penniless debtor, would then
accurately describe your situation in the absence of the Suzzy's
skirts to hide behind from your many unpaid creditors. Who knows?
Without your dead weight in this relationship Suzzy may well afford an
even nicer boat as you comb the ads in Soundings for some abandoned
Buccaneer or boat of similar pedigree.

Sad, really. You really should consider moving to a community
property state as the "equitable" distribution of assets in New York
based on relative contributions is going to screw you big time.

Our wills say otherwise. My friend's wife sold his plane and he won it back in
court dispite that it was in her name. Are planes somehow different? How about
homes?
You simply don't know marriage law. You own NOTHING on your own if you bought
it while married.
I'm about to buy a classic car and it will also be in her name. It'll be ours.
You seem to have a very strange idea about yours/hers in a marriage. We just
don't think like you do.

Jeff, it lists the following specs:

The depth is listed in the upper right of the certificate. It's in front of me

Jeff Morris July 18th 03 02:04 PM

As I said, it doesn't list draft. The item called "Depth" is not the same as draft. It
is measured from the deck to the bottom of the hull, though it depends on the design of
the boat. In your case it doesn't include the keel or coach. Remember that the "tonnage"
is a measure of volume, not weight, so the freeboard gets included.

http://www.uscg.mil/hq/msc/t3/cg5397/cg5397.pdf

DEPTH (D) is the vertical distance taken at or near amidships from a line drawn
horizontally through the uppermost edges of the skin (outside planking or plating) at the
sides of the hull (excluding the cap rail, trunks, cabins and deckhouses, and deck caps)
to the outboard face of the bottom skin of the hull, excluding the keel. If your vessel is
designed for sailing and the interface between the "keel" and the "bottom skin of the
hull" is not at a clearly defined location (as is the case with an "integral" or "faired"
keel), include the keel in the depth measurement.

beyond Salaries for big stars, TV Sitcoms are not that expensive to shoot.

Just imagine that the original Star Trek Series cost 140K per episode complete!
Twilight Zone episodes were less than half of that!
Far better TV for far less money.
