She's an oldy for sure! But the condition is pretty sweet. Suzanne's finally home, so I'm off to the boat. Can someone contain Billy's crying...who claimed that Alien was never filed for doc!!! Hooooh ahhhh! Kablam! Later, Skitchy... RB |

No boo-hoo here, Bobwimp. That documentation says it was issued July 9th. That
still supports the fact that you are a liar. We'll have a further laugh at you when the documentation shows up on the other, more detailed, database, and shows who has a boat and who doesn't. I have all of the paperwork, billy. The boat was registered to Suzanne and paperwork was entered by the coastguard on may 13, 03 at 10:34 am. They also sent me the previous bill of sale, which was odd. We actually handed the paperwork in to the dealer before May, but they did it later. Boo hoo!!! So where's the lie, dumb dumb!?? And what exactly is the "nature" of this lie? That I said we were having it documented before it was ready??? Duh! You LOST, baby!!!! bwahahahahaha! RB |

For very good reason. Beyond the house I own in Brooklyn, all recent purchases are in my wife's name. I'm soon to buy waterfront property and that will be in my name alone. RB |

I lost? My NAME appears on my documentation.
Yup!!! You couldn't get your wife to do this simple thing??? She makes you put everything in your name??? What a drag. Sorry about your situation!!! Bwahahahahahahaha!!!! RB |

Both of our names appear on the documentation. Why would putting
things in my name be a drag? Do you own a house, Billy boy? Do you know what a tax profile is? Is it the same as your wife's. Were you just recently married? Do you own stocks? Do you file jointly or seperate due to tax/asset liability? I suggest you get some financial aid if nothing above helps you understand why a couple shouldn't own everything "together" especially luxury items. RB |

It's NOT a stepping stone. You have no choice. A homeless person can't do better than the box he sleeps on. You and Billy are STUCK with what you own and you have to call it "satisfied." Sad! Bwahahahahaha! RB |

It was never documented by YOU.
How could it be? We didn't own the boat last year!!! What an idiot! RB |

In fact, it still hasn't been documented
by you. Does that mean I have no claim on the boat? Does my wife have no claim on my house in Brooklyn? RB |

Essentially, yes. She may potentially have a claim on your "assets" in
a divorce lawsuit, but not any item specifically that is in your name only. You have no specific rights of ownership on the boat. None at all. I don't know how to break it to you, but anything purchased after a marriage with no prenup is jointly owned with only clothing being defendable in court! It's a sad fact, but totally true. It doesn't matter who's name the boat, car or any other item is in. But there are certain tax loopholes. E-mail me off-list and I'd be happy to share them with you! RB |

Non starter who has owned three boats,
Did you actually own any of them. It seems unlikely at this point. All three were not in my name! Maybe the Catalina was...I don't remember. RB |

You were unable to buy a house on your own, but luckily someone who
could, died and left you one. I'm about to buy a hunk of property that you could only dream about. With money that you've only read about! Lordy, what a jealous dude! Bwahahahaha! RB |

It is really not all that complicated. New York, being an "equitable
distribution" state divides property as follows: http://www.nydivorceonline.com/nypag...debt%20div.asp "How property and debts are divided when you get divorced. If parties agree on all aspects of the divorce, this may include property division. In cases of fault-based divorce, the judge in New York will apply the traditional rules of "equitable distribution". This means that the judge can do whatever he or she thinks is fair. However, there are broad guidelines relating to the property division. In marriages of long duration property acquired during the marriage is generally divided on a 50/50 basis. The ratio would be different for shorter marriages. The court also considers which party contributed more assets to the marriage." Seems fair, I suppose. Without knowing the specifics but based on your statements that your credit sucks and Suzzy has great credit, it seems unlikely that the Judge would consider you anything more than a deadbeat mooch and would award the paltry assets to the victim of this sham marriage, i.e. Suzzy. I guess your "tax profile", i.e. penniless debtor, would then accurately describe your situation in the absence of the Suzzy's skirts to hide behind from your many unpaid creditors. Who knows? Without your dead weight in this relationship Suzzy may well afford an even nicer boat as you comb the ads in Soundings for some abandoned Buccaneer or boat of similar pedigree. Sad, really. You really should consider moving to a community property state as the "equitable" distribution of assets in New York based on relative contributions is going to screw you big time. On 17 Jul 2003 13:17:12 GMT, (Bobsprit) wrote: She could sell it later today, and you couldn't stop her. Its her boat. If she died later today, you could not sell the boat. It's NOT YOUR BOAT. Our wills say otherwise. My friend's wife sold his plane and he won it back in court dispite that it was in her name. Are planes somehow different? How about homes? You simply don't know marriage law. You own NOTHING on your own if you bought it while married. I'm about to buy a classic car and it will also be in her name. It'll be ours. You seem to have a very strange idea about yours/hers in a marriage. We just don't think like you do. Sorry about your situation. And I mean that. RB |

Why is 8 tons wrong? And the CG doesn't list the draft at all - it doesn't figure in.
Its possible your boat was hand measured, but I doubt it was the CG fault if there was a discrepancy. BTW, my cat, which weighs less than your C&C, measures at 22 tons. "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... 8 Tons ????? mine is only 5 Tons. Draft and LOA is wrong as well! Dopey coast guard! RB |

And it isn't the CG fault; its the responsibility of the first person to document. Jeff, it lists the following specs: Gross Tonnage-8 GRT, Net Tonnage-7NRT, Length-31.4, Breadth-10.3, Depth-5.0 The depth is listed in the upper right of the certificate. It's in front of me as I write. RB |

As I said, it doesn't list draft. The item called "Depth" is not the same as draft. It
is measured from the deck to the bottom of the hull, though it depends on the design of the boat. In your case it doesn't include the keel or coach. Remember that the "tonnage" is a measure of volume, not weight, so the freeboard gets included. http://www.uscg.mil/hq/msc/t3/cg5397/cg5397.pdf DEPTH (D) is the vertical distance taken at or near amidships from a line drawn horizontally through the uppermost edges of the skin (outside planking or plating) at the sides of the hull (excluding the cap rail, trunks, cabins and deckhouses, and deck caps) to the outboard face of the bottom skin of the hull, excluding the keel. If your vessel is designed for sailing and the interface between the "keel" and the "bottom skin of the hull" is not at a clearly defined location (as is the case with an "integral" or "faired" keel), include the keel in the depth measurement. ever heard of "Trailer Park Boys"??? beyond Salaries for big stars, TV Sitcoms are not that expensive to shoot. Shows like ER clock in under a million, before you pay the talent-rape contracts! Just imagine that the original Star Trek Series cost 140K per episode complete! Twilight Zone episodes were less than half of that! Far better TV for far less money. RB |
