Yipee!!!

Just got an early call from Maya....she wanted to know if she could bring two
of her model friends who are visiting from France!
I think I can find the room.
Sailing is great, and sometimes the frills are the stuff of fantasy! And I'll
have pics to prove it all!
I'm still waiting to see ANY women on your boats! I'm still waiting to see
anything that indicates any of you do more than one daysail every two weeks!
Today will be my 4th day on the water. Tomorrow we're taking Alien out
somewhere for a romantic evening. The boat is booked with babes for the
weekend!
Scotty, Steve, Loco....you should just KILL yourselves now!!! You have NOTHING
to look forward to! Just your day-in, day-out treadmil lives of mediocrity.....

Bwahahahahahahahahahahha! Hooooh ahhhhh!

Excellent Bob..... that should prove fun.

I had a good sail this weekend. Family Sail. 8 people on board for an
overnighter. Thick Fog set in and visibility was reduced to maybe 50 yards.
We were about 3 miles off the Gull Rocks when it caught us. I used the fog
as a good teaching aid. We broke out the charts and plotting gear for the
kids and did DR return track with no instrumentation other than a wrist
watch, compass and my hand held log to find our way back. The nephews and
niece did pretty good... put us about a half mile off the Gull Rocks. I
taught them how to listen and the importance of regular fog signals. We used
the lead line to confirm depths. They located the Gull Rock via sound and
made way there.....we then plotted a course to an anchorage and picked our
way around several reefs and shoals. I taught them the importance of
confirming buoy numbers and type with those marked on the chart.

They were rather proud of their accomplishment and wanted to reserve a few
days for more practice later on this summer. They now realize that "math
crap" they get taught has actual value in real life.

All in all a great week end sail. I'm diving again today. It appears they
need another 4 moorings placed. Like I told them at the marina."Build it and
they will come"....

Get her a Coastal Navigation course..... great stuff and it will confirm
her as "Navigator" aboard Alien. Once you complete your first "running
fix".... it's a big self confidence boost. A course will cover stuff that
will provide the requirements for the next step to Celestial Navigation.

They used to offer a good course at the American Museum here in NY. Not sure if
they still do, but I can get it for free if they do. But she's so busy with
nursing school at the moment it'll have to wait a while.

Awesome!!!! Suzanne is now learning nav. herself and is doing well. I

don't
like it myself, I'm stupid and can't figure it out, and the others laugh

at me,

but she's loving it. I think I'll buy her a nice new set of
garters for her Xmas stockings.
