No one won the War of 1812. It was a stalemate situation and boundaries changed. And it wasn't fought agaisnt Canada but
agaisnt Great Britain. The War of 1812 did determine, though, that the U.S. could hold its' pwn and remain a seperate entity.

The biggest problem the Yank's had with the British Empire, which Canada
was a dominion of, was the impressing of American seamen on the High
Seas, by the British. After the War of 1812 they left Yankee Sailors
alone. I'd call that a Victory

By the way, that was the war that created the US Constitution (Old
Ironsides) and the rest of the US Frigates War Ships. They were so
superior to the British that the Admiralty forbid any (ANY) British war
ship to engage one in one on one combat.

We whip their ass in 1812. We may not have gotten a surrender. We
didn't get a surrender in WW1, in Iraqi either but there was never a
dought who was the winner.
