Cool idea but expensive for the limited functions.

With HeathKit we learned to solder, read schematics, identify
components, and sometimes even ended up with a (semi) working guitar
amp, TV, ham radio, or oscilloscope.

We also learned that putting a transistor into a power supply kit incorrectly will cause the
whole house breaker to trip the first time you plug it into a wall socket.
