One thing about a sweated fitting. If it is done well, it is as strong
as the pipe itself if you use "hard" solder (95/5) or silver solder.

I would not be shocked if they were not code in some mobbed up union
states. Non-metalic cable ((romex) is illegal in Chicago and it just
became legal in some applications in New York City but not
universally.


I said earlier they are expensive and I wouldn't do the whole house with
them... but for a quick above the floor connection in the bath, I think
it would be fine. I have several down in essex, specially in areas of
possible frost. I have copper running through the floors and to the
fauctes etc, but under the floors it's mostly plastic...
