That is true. Even shooting #9s will be hitting just about as hard as

00B at typical "house" ranges, given the same weight of load.

It will just be a little messier in the autopsy trying to recover all

of that shot.

I'd say the coroner would just look up the phrase "shotgun" and make a check mark. End of autopsy.



When larger shot sizes start to make a difference is out around 8-10

yards and beyond when the pattern is dinner plate size and larger. If

you only hit with 20% of your pattern, you want those pellets to each

have some punch.



You certainly have some serious "use of force" questions if you are

shooting at someone 40 feet away. They better be shooting back.


Make sure he's not a black kid wearing a hoodie and eating a bag of skittles too!
