I didn't know about the forum, so I didn't post anything there. But
I'll explore the site more so I don't seem like some sort of
backdoor grouser, and can find the main channels. :-)
Better than posting to the AW Forum would be to employ Chuck's other
suggestion: add a user comment.
On every AW River Page, there's a button at the bottom for submitting comments.
If the intrepid surfer is logged in, it says "Add a comment." One simply clicks
on it, and starts typing. The results get posted on the river page and
auto-emailed to the StreamKeeper.
It's a very well designed site, set up for input from every member of the
paddling public...which is in keeping with the mission and tradition of
American Whitewater--by paddlers, for paddlers.
(If one isn't logged in, the button says "Registered Users can submit
comments.")
Registering and logging in is simple. Goto
http://www.americanwhitewater.org/join/ and follow the steps for registration.
It doesn't cost a cent, and it sets you up for "Gaugebot," the service which
emails the levels on your chosen rivers to you every day.
By the BTW: in a previous reply, you wrote:
Anyhow, I'd love to help edit stuff. Get me on the list, send it my way.
Not much paddling here in Congo anyhow. Enjoy the Fest.
Nice thought, RMan...butt how in Murdoch's Private Earth would I send it your
way? I'd bet truffles to ten-dollar bills that an email to
would bounce quicker than a check from the US government (after the currant
administration has its way with the budget, that is).
http://www.americanwhitewater.org/streamkeepers/ gives all the dope on how to
volunteer as a StreamKeeper. Just follow the steps outlined in there, and I'll
be glad to help you help your fellow paddler!
