If you're unable to read the New York Times content, go to Google news
and search for: "a speck in the sea".

Anyone who has ever spent time on the ocean will find this well worth
reading.

We had an HO version of this story on FMB the other night.
A woman got washed out by the tide and spent the night on #2 out in
the gulf. The CG aux found her the next morning. Water was about the
same temp, maybe a little colder. The Manatees are up in the power
plant discharge now.

I bet she was knicked up a might. The oysters are about 3" deep on
those pilings. I think I would have swam for the Lani Kai as soon as I
knew I was fukt. (down the beach a quarter of a mile, 90 degrees from
the current).)
Must be a "lake girl" from Michigan

I read that story. She's lucky to be alive in my opinion. Anyone
who swims here this time of year has got to be from somewhere up
north. It seems likely that alcohol was involved given the poor
judgement involved. Apparently she went swimming with a friend, but
the "friend" never reported her missing.
