Does anyone have any suggestions for the next step? Someone told me to

why? sounds like a plan to me.
You could add a regular old air bag or two.

If I leave the end compartments intact and use the float bags in the middle,
where will I put the kids and dog? FYI, the wife is in the front (bow) seat
and I'm in the stern.
