What a crock of crap from the American Taliban.
Women who believe that want to be that way. As much as the left hate
to admit it, there are still are a lot of women in the world who want
to be taken care of and they do not want any responsibility at all.
Personally I think it would ne like marrying my dog but to each his
own.. Nobody is making them do it.
I do find it ironic that when guys like Harry condemn the US support
of middle eastern dictators, they are supporting a theocracy that
takes over and pushes women back into the 15th century. Iran is a
perfect example. Under the Shah, women had the same rights as men,
they could wear western clothes and to "men's work". The people Savak
was "oppressing" were the religious fundamentalists who wanted Sharia
law and a return to the hijib days.
Also ironic that the quest for equal rights to men is really only a couple
hundred years old. For eons, women, attached themselves to the hunter/
protector who could get the job done. Still that way in remote tribes,
even so not remote tribes.
