Regardless of your opinion of Sarah Palin, this apology was warranted.
I never understood what the fascination with Bahir is anyway. He's a
British journalist, known for his controversial, gossip style reporting
in the UK. Apparently his only current opportunity to appear on TV have
come from MSNBC where he delivers his acid tongue commentaries on
everything wrong with the USA.
He and Piers Morgan belong back in their own country complaining about
the social problems there.

I happened to see Bashir's rant last week on Palin, though I don't often
watch his program. I thought he was spot-on, and it certainly didn't
bother me that Bashir wasn't born here. Palin deserved to be slammed
hard for her moronic comments that referenced slavery.
I do have to admit, though, that I appreciate the utter stupidity of the
GOP's female ultra-conservative politicians, leaders and spokespersons.
They do a wonderful job driving away rational people from the Republican
party.
Give me a break. He is journalistic trash here just as he was in the
UK. Palin is too simple minded to even know about Thomas Thistlewood.
He was nowhere near "spot on". He referenced obscure and limited
practices that have nothing to do with Palin's reference to slavery in
her speech. He took her totally out of context and implied that she
condoned the practices that he obviously had to search for and Palin
probably never heard of.
I've listened to him several times. He gets so worked up that even the
guests that agree with him have to calm him down.
