Default James river Tubing

Not to whiz in your Cheerios, but being the conscious paddler I am, I
would put in upstream of Glasgow and tube down to Glasgow. You can put
it at Locher Tract (by the Yogi Bear Campground) and have a nice float
down to Glasgow. If you put in at Glasgow, you'll have to deal with
Balcony Falls. Not impossible in a tube, but it wouldn't be the first
place I would pick to tube. Also, it's a looonnggg tube through the
fla****er at the end of that section to get to the takeout. I don't
like it even with paddles and boats...

Is the James River at Glasgow going to be tubable this coming weekend. Any
help would be appreciated.

Ought to be plenty high for you, I'd say well over 4 feet (not taking into
account any residue from Claudette we may be graced with). Should be a fairly
quick trip. But forget the tubing, Goshen Pass is up!! A hint: consult the
USGS gauge for the James at Buchanan (sp?), it stays pretty close to what the
James is through Glasgow/Snowden despite not factoring in the flow of the Maury
(how does it do that!?!?) Enjoy,
