Okay Johnny...let's fine tune my comments to some of the army officers who stayed well away from the nasty stuff, such as the Majors and above who were able to spend their Vietnam tour nights socializing at the officer's club.
That better?
I thought JohnnyMop blew up villages and killed women and children in
Vietnam while his buddy FlaJim picked up soap in the naval vessels well
and safely offshore.
This is the type post Luddite has never seen.
Sick.

Oh, I see them and I think they are disgusting. But it's also
interesting to me to see how people interpret events in life and how
they justify their own decisions.
Harry obviously never served in the military. He never "served" period
(Peace Corps or other) to my knowledge. He said he spent some time in
'Nam identifying dead bodies but my impression is that it wasn't
something he did as a service to his country or even his fellow man. I
have the impression he did it because the pay was good. I think he has
said he was originally sent as a journalist but the job was cancelled or
something by the time he arrived.
