That's certainly the predictions.

I don't understand something though ... and this isn't political. (I
have little interest in who Virginia elects as governor).

MSNBC is reporting that McAuliffe is leading (based on exit polls) with
15 percent of precincts reporting.

Yet, when you go to the Virginia.gov website that shows real-time vote
counts, it shows Cuccinelli is currently in the lead 50.7% to 41.9% with
over 36 percent of precincts reporting.

I think there should be no exit polls published until all voting precincts
are closed!

Yeah, that damned freedom of speech thing should be done away with....

Bull****!!!! You can not campaign near a voting place. Why should the
media be able to influence an election on Election Day? What does exit
polls accomplish? The media broke the law with impunity in the Al Gore
debacle in Florida. Two time zones and they reported results while some
polling places were still open in the Florida Panhandle. People actually
left the lines and did not vote, as they figured their vote was going to be
wasted anyway. Reporters should have spent jail time for that law breaking
as well as the media executives.

What law did they break?

The law where you can not post results or exit polls until the polling
places closed. Florida is in two time zones.

What *law* is that, Mr. Political Encyclopedia?

The exit polls may be allowed, but the results from a polling place can not
be publicly distributed until all polls are closed. You can Google the
Florida law. As well as probably every other state.

Exit polls typically do not reveal "results" from a polling place but,
rather, the results of people who were asked a series of questions as
they left the polling place. There is no law against exiting polling or
posting the results of exit polls, contrary to what you claimed. Live with it.

The media posted the actual results from the polls counts while the Western
part of the state was still voting.

Are you referring to the 2000 election in Florida? The election in which
Jeb Bush and the Supremes handed the election to Dumbya?

Yup, the election where the Supremes required Florida to observe and follow
the law.
