Not in the electronics industry. All our EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys,
Ansys, Mentor, etc.) run under Linux. For a team of about 8 people we
have 3 HP servers, each with 32 cpu cores and 78GB of ram. Our desk
PC's/laptops are just terminals running VNC clients and general office
stuff. Only the mechanical CAD, PCB layout, and the 3d printer run
under windows.
Cadence for one will run perfectly fine under windows.
