What respect do they deserve? Just because they are Indian? Because 100
years ago, they were treated badly? Because they work hard and still can
not make it? Because they have a huge illiteracy problem? Why?

Because they are still to this day used as attractions, etc.

Huh? What group besides Indians are using them as an attraction?
