Honda outboard problem - anyone help?
What the heck has a car got to do with an outboard ?

One thing I do know is that the smallest hole in a fuel line will, if it's
under pressure, p**s fuel out at an alarming rate. No experience of this
engine, just my old Escort RS2000 and Open Manta cars back inthe 80's -
the
escort had an "ignition problem" ie it caught fire after the leak I
was
luckier with the Manta but it was teeeny weeny hole (hardly visible until
the pipe was bent) that was letting it all spray out.
Good luck!

Hi there,
Posting this on behalf of a friend, who doesn't have NG access.
His Honda outboard is leaking petrol somewhere - his comments are below:
Honda 100 4 stroke twin (older model with white hood). There's a petrol
pump mounted on the rear, behind an ally heatshield. When the engine
runs, petrol is pi**ing out of the pump housing SOMEWHERE, can't see
where. Pretty sure it isn't the hoses, one comes from the petrol tank,
the other goes to the carb.
Pi**ing out. About 10 times as much as is actually being USED.
I think the diaphragm MIGHT be leaking, but that would normally not
pump petrol, and it does, because the engine works fine now.
Anyone any idea what he should look for, or what might be causing this?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Dave.
