The Federal government BLM and USFS does the same thing. That is

I haven't seen any coyotes, wolves, bears, or mountain lions tramping
through the woods here, though I do suspect there are small bears in the
heavily wooded areas.
Well, we know there are a couple owls down by the creek, so the coyotes can't be far behind. Small
predators might hide out in unused buildings, so I'd be careful going to your Maryland Red Barn.
