Jacksonville, Florida, still has a high school named after Nathan
Bedford Forrest, a Confederacy general, a founder and first grand wizard
of the Ku Klux Klan, and the officer who was accused of slaughtering
hundreds of black northern soldiers after they surrendered.

When we lived in northern Florida, there were efforts underway to
get the name of the school changed, and I thought by now it would have
happened.
